Proxy Problem

Jul 14, 2009 at 9:26 AM

OK,

Here is the situation. I succesfully use this program while at home using standard internet cennection without proxies.

However i would like to practic this method in my office. but we do have proxy for it.

And TweatMyPc doesn't seem to have that function. for configuring proxies.

Any idea from developer ?

The current version does not support proxy. This is one my "to do" item in the next version. Also I would not reccomend you to use TwetMyPC in a work environment. Use it only with your network administrator's approval. ;-)

Hah IC.

But wouldn't it be nice if we have proxy setting function. So it can be usable and expand the usage of TweetMyPC.

And 1 other thing why you not sharing your source code. I can see lots of developer have lots of ideas.

I might interested in further development of this application.

Thanks.

Hi izzuddinmeister!

It is sort of difficult to implement proxy-server-configuration into the application because we use the Yedda.Twitter.dll.

But it should use the connection-preferences of internet-explorer because it uses http to connect to the twitter-server.

The version 2 code  is downloadable since the release date but i uploaded my work with all the code (except en/decryption) to the sourcecode-page.

This is an OpenSource-Project and everyone who wants to help is verry welcome!

the new version of tweetmypc which uses TwitterVB 3.0.0.0 supports webproxies.

in frmTweetMyPc.vb you can easily set usernames and password for your standard proxy (set in the Internet explorer connection settings) with tw.ProxyPassword and tw.ProxyUsername
