About
TweetMyPC is a little software-application for Windows, written in VB.Net using the .Net-Framework v3.5 SP1, which allows you to control and access your computer from anywhere by simply sending a twitter-message with a special command as its content.

Why twitter?
Most time when you want to connect two personal computers you need a Server between them to get access and forward the wanted data because firewalls often block direct connections and most people don't have internet-connections with static IPs. For example if you use Skype or another instant messenger, your client connects to a server which 'manages' all the data-transferring and tells the clients the addresses of the other computers. But why should you develop a complete-Server-Client-system just for sending a few short messages to your computer, if there are simple systems like Twitter? This service gives users a really easy and fast way of communication. Twitter already is a stable system for which there are many libraries software-developers can easily use to connect with their programs to twitter. Another advantage of twitter is that the users can even send messages called "tweets" using your mobile phones independent from where they are! And exactly this is what we need for TweetMyPC!
Many people now think why they should use TweetMyPC if there are things like Remote Desktop or vnc; but as already said before, you still need the IP-Address and often an open port for being able to use these technologies - this is not needed with TweetMyPC and it also would be more work to do.

Hi, i installed 4.0.4 beta hoping it will update my v. 3.9.5 alpha. now i have both on my Windows 8 pc. the old version does not appear unter software, thus i can't uninstall it. Can you provide some manual uninstallation instructions to completely remove v. 3.9.5 alpha? thanks

tmPC stops listening for tweets when in an environment with regular loss of internet connection.
The App doesn't crash but only repeatedly stucks when it checks if it is already checking and then stops checking for tweets.
Tomporary fix: open and then hide the settings window makes it work again.

I've done that and it just comes up with, Unrecognized database format C:\Users\justin\AppData\TweetMyPC.mdb' Sorry. connecting to the database failed please try again...

When I click on the icon it says unrecognized database format, someone help please ???

Started receiving this error when I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. It is a fresh install with a new download/install of TweetMyPC v3.9.5 alpha. See attachment for full error:

Ok thanks for the quick response. I ran windows update and it installed a couple of updates. After this or worked without producing the script error. Thanks again.

check if you have all windows updates installed, no internet explorer addons which could cause this, working access to the titter website and that your antivirus isn't causing this. please also just a debug log of tweetmypc.

Previous versions don't work any more because twitter changed it's API. The sleeping after hibernating/no network connection is known and will be fixed within the next days or weeks.

I have just downloaded this application for the first time at version 4.0.4
I'm running Windows 7 home premium

I get the script error that others have mentioned but this is the latest version? Once I say "yes" the program works as required. However if I hibernate it sometimes stops responding to tweets.

Tried to install a previous version which installed ok and did not produce the script error, but it also did not function or respond to any tweets.

Any suggestions.

you need to install the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 and then TweetMyPC will work.

What I would really like to do is set this up automatically. I use Tasker on my Android phone to setup automatic tasks. If you know of any auto-send twitter scripts, let me know.

When I run the setup file it go to downloading feature but doesn't download, It Says

@cableghost: but you could just install any second twitter app on your android phone and use this one only for tweeting to the tweetmypc account. this shouldn't be too laborious? ;-)
